<p><h3>Instrumentation and Control Engineer</h3>
<p>Ausenco is a fast‑growing company redefining possibilities in complex projects and tough environments. We are expanding our team in Eastern Canada and are recruiting for this role in the Burlington office.</p>
<h3>About The Role</h3>
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the engineering and design team from FEED through scoping and detailed engineering to construction support.</li>
<li>Develop capital cost estimates for feasibility study and detailed engineering proposals.</li>
<li>Monitor costs associated with the selection, cost and installation of Instrumentation and Control System equipment.</li>
<li>Design instrumentation‑related engineering deliverables, including instrument indexes, installation details, location drawings, datasheets, wiring drawings, loop drawings, P&ID's, material requisitions, evaluation of alternatives and selection of instruments, calculations (control valve, flow elements, pressure safety valves), document control logs, bill of materials, instrument change approvals, and construction work packages.</li>
<li>Design controls‑related engineering deliverables such as logic drawings, termination/wiring diagrams, block diagrams, panel layouts, control system topology/architecture, control narrative, and cable schedule.</li>
<li>Participate in HAZOP reviews and other technical, constructability and quality reviews.</li>
</ul>
<h3>About You</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation and Instrumentation or a related field.</li>
<li>2 – 8 years of progressive experience as an instrumentation and control engineer in heavy industry.</li>
<li>Registered with P.E.O. as a P.Eng or eligible/planning to register.</li>
<li>Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.</li>
<li>Strong analytical, communication (oral and written) and troubleshooting skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work under pressure, multi‑task and meet deadlines.</li>
<li>Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary project team, including process, mechanical, civil‑structural, electrical, instrumentation and CAD support.</li>
<li>Knowledge of codes, standards, regulations and practices.</li>
<li>Familiarity with hardware requirements of PLC, SCADA and DCS control systems.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Industrial IT, including Ethernet networking systems is an asset.</li>
<li>Experience with communication protocols such as DNP, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, IEC 61850 is an asset.</li>
<li>Previous experience in mining projects, as well as Smart Instrumentation and Smart P&ID is an advantage.</li>
