 Overview:

 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Foxboro Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our clients team on a 7/7 rotational shift with fly in and fly out out of Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining Foxboro distributed control systems (DCS) and instrumentation systems in compliance with Canadian regulations to optimize the efficiency and reliability of our clients industrial processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, configuring, and programming Foxboro distributed control systems (DCS) to meet project requirements while adhering to Canadian regulatory standards.
  • Developing and implementing control strategies to improve process efficiency, reliability, and safety in alignment with Canadian regulations.
  • Conducting system integration, testing, and commissioning activities for Foxboro DCS and instrumentation systems in compliance with Canadian codes and standards.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to Foxboro DCS and instrumentation while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including process engineers, project managers, and technicians to ensure successful project execution while adhering to Canadian regulations.
  • Providing technical support and training to operations and maintenance personnel, emphasizing compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and Canadian regulatory changes related to Foxboro DCS and instrumentation technology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Foxboro distributed control systems (DCS) and instrumentation in industrial environments, with a strong understanding of Canadian regulations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as FCP (Foxboro Control Programming), Function Block Diagram (FBD), and Sequential Function Chart (SFC).
  • Strong knowledge of process control fundamentals, including PID control, loop tuning, and advanced control strategies, in accordance with Canadian regulatory standards.
  • Experience with HART and Foundation Fieldbus communication protocols, ensuring compliance with Canadian requirements.
  • Familiarity with Canadian industry standards and regulations such as CSA (Canadian Standards Association) codes and provincial regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team while ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, emphasizing compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements.
  • Willingness to travel and work in industrial plant environments in Alberta, Canada, as required, ensuring adherence to Canadian regulatory standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certification in Foxboro DCS or related technologies, with an understanding of Canadian regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with other DCS platforms such as Honeywell, Emerson, or Siemens while ensuring compliance with Canadian regulations.
