Inventory Control Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and results oriented Inventory Control Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of the inventory management process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all operations. With a proven track record of successfully managing inventory in previous roles, you will be responsible for overseeing inventory levels, implementing effective inventory control procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Your ability to take initiative and demonstrate strong leadership will be crucial in maintaining optimal inventory performance and supporting our overall business objectives.

Job Duties & Tasks:



o  Inventory:

o  Complete inventory management, tracking, and reporting on all inventory of the organization.

o  Develop inventory management strategies and processes to ensure the organization can meet company objectives and support inventory systems.


o  Analyze inventory data to forecast future needs and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.

o  Oversee the tracking, storage, and distribution of cannabis products, ensuring accurate inventory levels at processing, storage, and co-packers facilities.

o  Ensure all inventory practices comply with all regulations, including tracking and reporting requirements.


o  Monitor the quality and condition of products to prevent spoilage and ensure consistency.

o  Develop and implement strategies to minimize inventory loss.

o  Maintain detailed records of all inventory movements, including receipts, transfers, and disposals.


o  Utilize inventory management software Microsoft Dynamics 365 to track inventory in real-time and generate necessary reports.

o  Manage inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels.

o  Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to optimize costs and lead times.


o  Coordinate with key suppliers to ensure effective scheduling and product availability.

o  Communicate with team to meet business goals and address any issues.

o  Participate in the recruitment and training of new reports.


o  Responsible for training, developing, and directing the team, including goal setting and creating and monitoring performance through KPIs.

o  Report on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency and personnel issues to upper management.

o  Implement and maintain SOP process and responsible for enhancing and executing SOP process.


o  Identify and resolve discrepancies and problems upon review of daily inventory analysis.

o  Facilitate inventory cycle counts and third party audits.

o  Inbound Logistics:

o  Improve the efficiency of inbound logistics by identifying and addressing obstacles in the material flow to reduce risk.

o  Optimize supplier stock levels and internal purchase planning by using ERP system controls to manage supplier stock and streamline orders to meet production schedules and cash flow needs.


o  Proactively communicate to the appropriate stakeholders to manage product availability using mitigation strategies to eliminate outages.

o  Ensure efficient planning of all inbound receipts including but not limited to raw materials.

o  Comply with applicable internal SOPs, industry requirements, and standards within a GMP operation.


o  Ensure all export, import, and local shipments are completed as per business requirements in a timely and accurate manner.

o  Responsible for reconciliation of inbound receipts with on hand inventories.

o  Product – Production and Procurement:

o  Responsible for inventory level optimization by balancing demand forecasts and inbound receipts with production objectives.

o  Lead the coordination and execution of physical inventory counts.


o  Participate in production scheduling meetings.

o  Support the QA Department with quality concerns related to product or packaging.

o  Support with purchasing.


o  Be a role model that showcases Nextleaf’s culture both internally and externally.

o  Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:


Knowledge

o  Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in inventory management; experience in the cannabis industry is an asset


o  At least 1 year of supervisory experience

o  Post-secondary education in a related field of study, or equivalent experience

o  Working knowledge of inventory management software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365


o  Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, and an aptitude to learn new systems

o  WHMIS, Food Safety, and understanding of GMPs

o  Familiarity with Health Canada regulated environments and protocols is an asset


o  Strong detail orientation

o  Valid security clearance is an asset

o  Experience with spreadsheets and working with numbers


o  Proven ability to implement processes and procedures

o  Experience participating in audits

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Most of the time will be spent working in an office environment; occasionally on the production floor wearing general lab PPE.


Salary range: $70-$75K annual
