Description The Company: The Company is a prominent service provider in Alberta, known for its expertise in heat exchanger cleaning and pressure & vacuum services. We have a steadfast commitment to quality, safety, and excellence in every task, and dedicated to ensure optimal performance of our fleet: Heavy vehicles, light vehicles, trailers, mounted equipment. Role Overview: The role will be based out of our shop in Stony Plain but will have a service truck for field calls (i.e., breakdowns or light maintenance on client sites).
This is a 40-hour work week 8-4:30 Monday to Friday, with overtime as required. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the team and will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse range of equipment. This includes heavy vehicles (Kenworth/Peterbilt trucks), light vehicles (up to 2-ton pickups), trailers, and mounted equipment such as vacuum components, steam/pressure components, and pumps.
A key responsibility will be performing Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program (CVIP) inspections and establishing Viking shop as a certified CVIP Inspection Facility (“eFacility”). Key Responsibilities: – Conduct maintenance and repair tasks on heavy and light vehicles, trailers, and various mounted equipment, adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. – Perform CVIP inspections in accordance with Alberta’s transportation regulations, ensuring all vehicles and equipment meet the necessary safety and performance standards. – Lead the initiative to establish the Company Shop as a CVIP Inspection Facility (“eFacility”), including compliance with all regulatory and certification requirements. – Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required. – Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance, repair, and inspection records. – Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and standards. Requirements: – Valid Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) certification with a valid Red Seal endorsement. – Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy vehicles, light vehicles, trailers, and mounted equipment. – Qualified to perform CVIP inspections with a strong understanding of Alberta’s transportation regulations. – Demonstrated ability to meet the requirements for establishing a facility as a certified CVIP Inspection Facility (“eFacility”). – Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail. – Strong communication and interpersonal skills. – Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. – Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (minimum) with a clean driving record.
Preference will be given to candidates with a Class 1 Operator License.
