The Opportunity
Junior Coastal Engineer for our Ports, Marine & Coastal team. As a Junior Coastal Engineer, you will join a team of technical specialists across Canada, who carry out coastal engineering projects throughout Canada and abroad.

Your Impact
- Assist with project-related tasks including data analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of marine and coastal processes (e.g. waves, currents, water levels, sediment transport).
- Under the direction of senior staff, conduct coastal studies and numerical modelling to address problems related to natural coastal hazards (e.g. flooding, erosion, sedimentation) and human interactions (e.g. spills, coastal structures, dredging and beneficial use, materials management).
- Under the direction of senior staff, execute coastal engineering calculations and analyses in support of planning and design of traditional coastal protection structures and nature-based solutions.
- Assist with preparation of technical documents (e.g. reports, drawings, specifications) documenting engineering and environmental investigations, results, and analyses.
- Conduct field work involving site visits, data collection and condition inspection of coastal and harbour structures.
The Skills That Set You Apart
- A bachelor's or higher degree in coastal, environmental, hydraulic, or civil engineering; with directed studies in coastal, port or ocean engineering.
- Consulting work experience in the field of coastal engineering or related disciplines.
- Current registration or eligibility to apply as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada.
Compensation
- BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU (Zone 1): $66,700 – $88,400
- MB & ON (Zone 2): $60,900 – $83,800
- Atlantic Provinces & QC (Zone 3): $60,300 – $80,000
