We align multi-disciplinary talent with prestigious companies across diverse industries.</b></p><p><br></p><p><b> 2 Vacancies Available </b></p><p>Our valued national law firm clients are seeking Commercial Litigation Legal Assistants for practice group administrative support; general litigation experience is an acceptable consideration.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Attributes:</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Client service approach - you're ready, willing, and able to put clients first and exceed their expectations.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build harmonious working relationships within your immediate team, across other departments in the firm, and the community.</li><li>Collaborative working - you're a self starter who values working in a collaborative team-based environment.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) when dealing with lawyers, clients, staff and third parties.</li><li>Approaching your work with agility and the willingness to learn and utilize new and emerging technology.</li><li>Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while being organized and maintaining accuracy with a high attention to detail.</li><li>Demonstrating strong research, investigative and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise judgement to resolve issues.</li><li>Able to work within tight timelines to meet deadlines, reassessing priorities as needed.</li><li>Proactive and taking initiative in anticipation of next steps.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities:</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Responsible for the billing support for a group of lawyers including generating bills on a monthly basis, understanding and adapting to specific client requirements and transmitting bills through electronic billing hubs as required by clients;</li><li>Provide all administrative support including conducting conflicts checks, opening and closing files;</li><li>Maintenance of established filing systems, including correspondence, reports, records, confidential files and B/F files and/or systems;</li><li>Document production support for daily correspondence, pleadings and other document preparation;</li><li>File preparation and management;</li><li>Assist with booking tribunal / court and other hearing dates, communicate with registries;</li><li>Organize, and assemble documents and books in support of tribunal and court hearings as required;</li><li>Liaise with legal assistants, paralegals, other lawyers and clients on file progress; and</li><li>Other legal duties as required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Required Knowledge + Experience:</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Completion of an accredited post-secondary Legal Assistant Diploma from a recognized post secondary institution;</li><li>Minimum of three (3) years experience working in Litigation is required; Commercial Litigation experience is considered an asset;</li><li>Experience and a strong understanding of the courts process; higher levels of court (Federal, Court of Appeal), are considered an asset;</li><li>In-depth understanding of business and legal terminology;</li><li>Sound technical skills; proficiency in MS Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, iManage DMS, Adobe Pro, etc.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>For immediate consideration, please submit your resume in strict confidence.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Engage in the market with a strategic representation advantage, to alleviate the tensions that can emerge when changing roles or securing new employment.
