The Cloud team sits within the IT team and reports to the VP, Cloud Transformation and IT Services. The Manager, Cloud COE is a standalone position and leads in two broad areas to begin with: (a) Cloud optimization, and (b) Cloud FinOps. The team’s mission is to modernize technology and to drive significant organizational value through the effective use of Cloud services.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Manager of Cloud COE, who has the Cloud technical skills (preferably GCP and / or Azure) and enjoys working through the technical & organizational challenges of Cloud migrations. You want to create value and impact the direction of our business. • End to end ownership of Cloud financials – business cases, Cloud consumption, forecasting, financial modeling and financial optimizations. • Own and maintain a Cloud optimization roadmap with delivery commitments. • Deep experience with establishing and running a FinOps practice • Work closely with the Platform Architecture and IT Operations teams to identify and manage platform Total Cost of Ownership across on-premise and Cloud ecosystems. • Build cost optimization frameworks by (a) reporting on granular Cloud utilization costs, (b) work with application teams to identify cost optimization opportunities, and (c) assist them in implementing such opportunities. • Work with application teams on Cloud migration business cases; drive a templated approach. • Establish a financial forecasting model for Cloud consumption • Establish multiple levels (Executive, programs, technical teams) of financial reporting of costs across on-premise and cloud platforms • Responsible for training, development and coaching of staff on financials. • Drive best practices and continuous improvement in financial optimization • Build and run an effective FinOps governance framework across IT, Product, Data, Digital and Finance teams. • Foster a climate that supports relationship building and collaboration WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent. • Strong experience in traditional IT and Cloud ecosystems. • Demonstrated leadership experience defining and building a FinOps framework (people, process, technology) in a complex organization. • Experience in effectively partnering with Architecture, Operations and Development teams on Cloud assessments and migrations. • Strong hands-on technical knowledge in the following: FinOps, technology TCO, financial forecasting, Cloud operations, SRE / NoOps, business cases, financial reporting, Cloud metrics / KPIs. • Clear and effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of internal and external customers. • Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills with strong attention to detail. • Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to creatively develop solutions to problems. • Must be a team player with the ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment. • Strong problem solving abilities and ability to work effectively under pressure. • An accomplished facilitator with excellent interpersonal and communications skills that support working effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-location team environments. • Highly developed planning, organizing and negotiating skills; can manage multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines and respond to changing priorities. • Ability to travel within Canada.

NICE TO HAVE • Core infrastructure experience with data centres, network, virtualization, databases. WORK LOCATION The successful candidate can be located in any of Toronto, Windsor, London, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax, Calgary or Vancouver. At present, employees work from the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and can be remote the remainder of the week.
