Role Overview:
As the Managing Director, you will assume ultimate leadership, shaping the strategic vision and driving operational success. Your role encompasses steering the company toward its financial goals, overseeing all aspects of business operations, and nurturing a high-performing team. A deep-rooted understanding of the digital exchange, cryptocurrency, blockchain sector, or related fields such as investment banking or fintech is critical. This is a contract role with the possibility of becoming full-time after a successful trial period. The candidate must be a resident of Canada, preferably in Toronto or Calgary.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Chart the companys course, setting strategic goals, and ensuring successful execution.
- Elevate the companys profile by being the primary spokesperson to stakeholders, the media, and the wider community.
- Drive business growth, exploring new markets and opportunities to bolster profitability.
- Oversee financial performance, ensuring the company’s fiscal health and sustainability.
- Guarantee compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical standards in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries.
- Banking and Compliance:
- Act as a registered director, signing documents and creating or opening accounts with major banks in Canada.
- Ensure clients trading on the company’s platform can transact with their banks from the crypto platform.
- Focus on opening accounts with RBC, CIBC, and other necessary banking institutions.
- Connect with fintech or crypto company representatives at these banks.
- Business Development:
- Engage in business development, pitching banking institutions or PSPs for payment necessities.
- Search online for law providers, build a portfolio, and leverage LinkedIn for business development opportunities.
- Represent the company at conferences, building relationships and enhancing the company’s reputation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in business development, particularly in banking, fintech, or cryptocurrency exchanges.
- Demonstrated success in opening bank accounts and establishing banking relationships.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to adhere to strict compliance protocols and foster a culture of excellence and integrity.
Working Conditions:
- Contractual Role: 1 hour a day or 10 hours a week, with potential for full-time employment after a successful 2-month trial.
- Location: Must be based in Toronto or Calgary, Canada.
Compensation:
- Competitive bonus and salary for the first 4 months, with opportunities for promotion and full-time employment based on performance.
