Position Overview

The Yard Material Handling Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the efficient flow of materials in our outdoor yard operations. Working primarily outdoors, this position is responsible for safely operating a Combilift forklift to handle, move, and organize heavy pipes and related materials. The role also involves maintaining accurate yard inventory, ensuring materials are stored securely and efficiently, and supporting smooth day-to-day logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Combilift forklift to load, unload, and transport heavy pipes and related materials around the yard.
  • Perform regular yard inventory checks , verifying quantities and identifying discrepancies.
  • Assist with stock organization and placement , ensuring materials are stored securely and accessibly.
  • Inspect materials and equipment for damage or safety concerns and report issues promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free yard areas in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Support shipping, receiving, and general yard operations as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Combilift or Forklift Operator Certification (experience with long-load handling preferred).
  • Strong spatial awareness and ability to maneuver large or awkward materials safely.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inventory and documentation.
  • Basic math, communication, and computer skills (Excel, email, and data entry).
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.

Education & Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid forklift license and/or Combilift experience strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs independently.
  • Comfortable working in outdoor environments and following all safety protocols and operational procedures.
