Responsibilities & Qualifications Site Survey Completes site surveys expeditiously and within allocated number of visits in fee proposal by appropriately scheduling and organizing access.

Identifies existing non-conforming conditions or areas that could use improvement (value-added). Relies on junior staff to assist with straightforward site surveys. Drafting and Design Designs medium-high complex systems for projects such as small/medium central plants, medium new construction, medium system schematics, and dust collection or process-specific systems.

Edits and develops standards for specific projects and completes construction documents with sufficient detail to promote success of the project. Draws on experience and proactively addresses potential challenges in project execution. Design is clearly and consistently optimized with emphasis on cost-benefit and sustainability.

Project Support Prepares construction documentation such as addenda, CCNs, SIs, shop drawing reviews and ancillary sketches. Works to manage expectations for deliverables, overall schedule, and additional fees. For medium – high complex projects, may acts as client’s key contact for day-to-day project-related items.

Completes detailed field review reports. Communication Communicates clearly with internal team and project manager. Presents numerical data effectively, and can read and interpret complex data.

Able to write complete and concise reports such as systems assessments and energy studies. Technical Knowledge Comprehensive understanding of: Thermodynamics, heating/cooling calculations, pump/piping systems theory, psychrometric charts and acoustics; applicable codes such as BCBC, VBBL NBCC, ASHRAE 62,90.1 , NFPA and CSA; different mechanical systems (e.g. able to specify heat pumps, roof top units, VAV Boxes, heating/cooling coils, make up air units, dust collection systems, cooling towers, etc.); Benefits and drawbacks of different mechanical systems. Able to size hot water tanks, ductwork, piping, air separators, heat exchangers, control valves, expansion tanks and other associated equipment/components for medium complex projects.

Fluent in AutoCAD and/or Revit and HAP. Teamwork Effectively manages and mentors a team of at least one other junior team member. Assesses team members’ abilities and experience for task allocations.

Manages multiple projects. Focuses on mentorship at a technical level. Manages team’s time to successfully complete technical task of multiple projects.

Qualifications, Education and Experience Bachelors degree in engineering or related field. P.Eng. registration Passive House/LEED certification beneficial. Approximately 4-7 years of directly related experience, 8 years of experience for Senior level.

Additional Information We value our team members and firmly believe in fair compensation. The base compensation range for this role is $80,000-$120,000 annually.
