Position Overview
Reporting to the Manager Health Services of Access, Intake, Assessment, and Coordination, the incumbent is responsible for providing a welcoming point of contact for French-speaking individuals and their families/natural supports and referral sources seeking French-language services for individuals experiencing mental health and addictions concerns. The role includes developing effective alliances with callers, collecting information, triaging and evaluating risk, and crisis intervention where indicated. The bilingual clinician works collaboratively with primary health care providers, individuals, families/natural supports, and services/agencies to help determine the service best suited to meet the individual’s needs. The bilingual clinician is responsible for liaising with provincial mental health and addictions services for individuals across the lifespan, the stabilization facility designated under the Youth Drug Stabilization Act, and Compass, the in-house program for youth to address their substance use.

Le clinicien ou la clinicienne bilingue travaille en collaboration avec les fournisseurs de soins de santé primaires, les personnes ayant besoin d’aide, les familles et aidants naturels ainsi que les services et organismes afin d’aider à déterminer les services susceptibles de répondre le mieux aux besoins de la personne visée. Le clinicien ou la clinicienne bilingue assure la liaison avec les services provinciaux de santé mentale et de lutte contre les dépendances pour des personnes de tout âge, avec l’établissement de stabilisation désigné en vertu de la Loi sur la stabilisation des mineurs toxicomanes et avec Compass, le programme interne permettant aux jeunes de lutter contre leur consommation de substances.
