Take advantage of this opportunity to develop your skills and add value while also having the chance to meet other students and partake in initiatives such as the Student Social CommitteeTerm length: 8 to 16 monthsTerm start: January, May or September 2024Job location: Calgary, AB – Head Office or Fort McMurray, AB – Horizon and Albian Mine SiteShift schedule: VariousSafety sensitive position: YesKey Accountabilities:Support mine and tailings operations through performance monitoring, design work, analyzing trends, looking for efficiencies.Design work may include haul roads, waste dumps, tailings storage structures and pit walls.Assist in the budget process by engaging with all teams in the mining department to collaboratively develop the annual mine operations budget.Perform haul truck productivity simulations in support of the forecast and budget.Detailed deposition scheduling to support waste and tailings planning.What You Bring to The Role:Currently enrolled in Bachelor Degree program in Mining Engineering is preferred, Civil or Geological Engineering is also acceptablePrevious engineering or field experience is considered an asset.A class 5 driver’s license and a relatively clean driver’s abstract is required for this position.All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work.
