Worker Type: Employee Group: Job Post End Date: 09/03/2024 Start Date: June 2025 Location: Lloydminster, SK/AB About this opportunity Cenovus’s New Grad Program aims to attract, develop, and retain exceptional new grads to build a top talent pipeline for the company . The program provides new grads with a broad understanding of Cenovus’s core business through challenging work assignments, training and development, field exposure and the opportunity to develop a large network of contacts through networking and mentorship opportunities. Our Program consists of three consecutive 12-month rotational assignments that span Cenovus’s varied business areas.

Upon completion of the three-year program, you will be matched to a permanent role within the organization. This role will be based on business need and relocation may be required. As a New Grad, Environment and Regulatory at Cenovus, possible rotations could include: Environmental Operations Upstream Environmental Operations Downstream Regulatory Services Emissions Management Water Resources Your first rotation, will likely be Lloydminster AB/SK.

Your position as you graduate from the New Grad Program will be a field-based role that will be figured out at a later date. Locations for your additional rotations could also include: Foster Creek Oilsands Christina Lake Oilsands Sunrise Oilsands Downstream Facilities in the Lloydminster Area Note: The application deadline for this position is September 2nd, 2024 11:59pm MST . What you’ll do Responsibilities may include: Work in consultation with Calgary-based environmental advisors, and field-based production staff, to support environmental compliance activities related to EPEA, Water Act, Public Lands Act, and all other related environmental regulations across multiple regulatory jurisdictions.

Support and conduct field data collection related to emissions monitoring, freshwater usage, lake level measurements, stream gauging, wildlife sweeps, soil sampling etc.Field data will be collected using Cenovus’s standardized process, tools and records management. Scheduling and safety kick off third-party environmental contractors, conducting field activities. Support field asset teams in response to environmental incidents, such as spill clean up, non-routine flaring etc.

Supporting data compilation and quality assurance activities associated with corporate air, land, and water data for Regulatory and ESG reporting. Assisting in the facilitation and development of environmental improvement plans such as water management plans. Supporting data and use visualizations, dashboards, and software improve efficiency and standardization of data capture and dissemination.

Who you are Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications: Legally entitled to work in Canada. Available to begin work June 2025. Work experience in field or plant based environmental compliance role is preferred.

Must have an undergraduate Environmental related program degree (i.e., Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, etc.) obtained by May 31, 2025, and completed within the last 2 years (2023, 2024 or 2025). The Program aims to develop employees at the beginning of their careers, and as such, you must have less than 2 years of professional experience related to your discipline of study (not including co-op or student positions).
