We’re currently looking for an Operations Manager, Planet Youth to join our dynamic Transformation team.
Planet Youth is an initiative in Calgary that addresses youth mental health and substance use, based on the Icelandic Prevention Model. Working closely with the Chief Transformation Officer and the Director of Planet Youth, the Operations Manager will provide operational and project management to the Planet Youth initiative. This role will provide project oversight, project communications, planning, fiduciary oversight, and coordination of internal and external teams working to implement Planet Youth in Calgary.
If you are passionate about your community, aspire to make an impact, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to make a difference, then we’re looking for you What you will do Lead the development and implementation of the Planet Youth project plan and strategy including the integration of coalition building, research and data gathering, governance development, stakeholder engagement, community development, project communications, and resource development activities. Ensure effective utilization of resources and adherence to program goals and objectives. Monitor project progress, track deliverables, and ensure compliance with deadlines and budget constraints.
Escalate project risks and concerns to CTO and Director. Coordinate communication between and liaise with core team and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation. Contribute to research and evaluation activities, reporting, and stewardship needs.
Prepare and present project reports, status updates and evaluations. Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring ethical space and respect for both Indigenous and Western systems and perspectives in the development and implementation of the initiative. What you will bring Experience: Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline and at least 5 years’ experience in a non-profit or collective impact environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously. Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools. Knowledge of change management principles and practices.
Diplomacy skills to negotiate various relationships and organizational priorities and dynamics. Experience in collaborating with and supporting community partners at multiple levels. Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and collaboration tools.
Attributes: Strong collaborator and relationship builder, with the ability to work across sectors on a common vision. Strategic thinker and ability to apply a systems lens and see interconnections and opportunities. Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
