We are currently hiring a Lab Manager in Vancouver, British Columbia!

What you’ll do:
- Work directly with the Customer Service team and accounts to troubleshoot, remedy, and prevent quality issues
- Manage appropriate staffing levels within site, ensuring sufficient manpower to support changing conditions of production. Appropriately adjusts staffing schedules for real-time demand and long-term planning .
- Ensure policies and procedures that are in place are being followed for production efficiency, safety, and compliance with company guidelines.
- Ability to perform the duties and train in all positions of the lab which includes data entry, preproduction, finishing, QA, and shipping
- Analyzes and resolves work-related problems or assists employees in solving work-related problems
- Reviews and analyzes internal systems (DVI), audit, breakages, and kpi reports for Delivery on Time, Yield, and jobs over 5 days determining the cause of quality or production issues
- Manage Staff concerns and issues promptly in a fair and transparent manner and bring resolution.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma or equivalent combination in production, manufacturing, and management experience.
- A minimum of 5 years current experience in a Leadership / management role in a production and/or optical environment
- Strong management and leadership skills – effectively managing a team ensuring maximum productivity and engagement; working under time constraints; managing completion of complex job orders with the ability to multi-task and meet/manage multiple priorities
- Computer literate (intermediate MS Office Suite skills: with focus on MS Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Thorough technical knowledge of Optical principles and lab processes, equipment and maintenance.
