Outside Sales Representatives make daily face-to-face visits to consult with customers on how to build their business, educate customers on our products and marketing tools, and provide superior service that surpasses customers’ needs and expectations. The Outside Sales Representative is proactive and is continually looking for ways to increase sales and profit, overcome challenges, offer follow-up and efficiently respond to requests and anticipate customers’ needs.Required Qualifications & ExperienceUniversity or college degree in Marketing, Sales or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum 3 years of work experience in an external sales capacity in clothing and/or distribution tradeExcellent knowledge of the industry, company, and product line with a strong sales backgroundDemonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotasProfessional demeanor, selling styles, and appearanceSolid experience in pre-visit planning, account development, and time and territory managementStrong knowledge of retail and or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniquesStrong problem-identification and objection-resolution skillsAbility to build and maintain lasting relationships with customersExceptional verbal and written communication, listening and presentation skillsSolid digital communications skills including but not limited to:Demonstrated ability to communicate via email using effective and professional language skills;Create digital product presentations, including hyperlinks and descriptions;Create videos that professionally promote our Company, including our products and services;Ability to create, update and manage email groups in OutlookSelf-motivated with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasmAbility to work individually and as part of a teamHigh level of integrity and work ethicMust possess a valid driver’s license and passportMust possess a reliable personal vehicleWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office programsWorking ConditionsFrequent travel is required, often up to several hours of driving per dayAbility to travel to, attend, and conduct presentationsAbility to sit for extended periods of timeOccasional travel to weekend tradeshows, both in and out of townOccasional lifting of items up to 50lbsResponsibilitiesConduct a minimum of 8 sales calls per dayPerform product knowledge sessions or highlight Company products and or services while with customersAlways maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray SanMar Canada in a positive mannerActively manage call schedule to cover assigned territory in a time–efficient manner adequatelyUse marketing data and tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectivenessMaintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices and other documentationHave an excellent working knowledge of the following:SanMar Canada’s products and services;Competitors, customers, and the promotional products industryEstablish and grow business relationships with owners, buyers, Inside Reps and Outside Reps and continue to develop new business relationshipsDemonstrate ability to teach and sell our marketing tools based on knowledge gained regarding customers’ marketing desiresAttend meetings and seminars to maintain and expand industry knowledgeAdhere to current and future company policies and standards to ensure a safe and agreeable working environmentAssist in other territories and additional duties as required by managementProvide regular written reports or, as requested by the National Sales Manager communicate the business climate/challenges from the territory
