<p>Our WSP Contaminated Sites team in the Prairies is growing, and as a result we're adding a Senior Environmental Engineer to our group serving a variety of industrial and government clients in Western Canada as well as the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. You will have access to and work with a team of experienced professionals including hydrogeologists, engineers, geochemists and other technical staff.</p>

<h3>What you can expect to do here</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead the design and preparation of specifications for new or expanding landfill projects, including landfill caps and containment systems for ponds and lagoons.</li>
<li>Supervise construction activities to ensure projects meet design and regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Implement and monitor Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs for liner systems.</li>
<li>Ensure all project materials and installations comply with industry standards.</li>
<li>Apply expertise in the beneficial use of collected landfill gas to optimize system performance.</li>
<li>Develop and finalize design drawings and specifications for landfill gas systems.</li>
<li>Manage and oversee the installation process of landfill gas systems, ensuring adherence to design plans.</li>
<li>Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team of professionals, providing technical guidance and support.</li>
<li>Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations and standards.</li>
<li>Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for regulatory compliance and client communication.</li>
<li>Conduct environmental impact assessments and land evaluations.</li>
<li>Develop and implement strategies for waste management and pollution control.</li>
<li>Collaborate with clients to create innovative and sustainable landfill gas management solutions.</li>
<li>Stay informed about the latest industry standards, technologies, and best practices.</li>
<li>Oversee, or assist in the preparation of technical proposals including preparing scopes of works and estimates of costs for professional services.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What you can bring to WSP</h3>
<ul>
<li>A bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental/Civil/Geological Engineering, or related Engineering disciplines.</li>
<li>Minimum of 15 years of experience in the following:</li>
<li>Design and preparation or supervision of design drawings, specifications for new or expanding landfills, landfill caps, and natural or synthetic containment systems for ponds and lagoons;</li>
<li>Construction oversight of above projects</li>
<li>Field experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs for natural and synthetic liner systems;</li>
<li>Landfill gas systems including preparation of design drawings and specifications</li>
<li>Oversight of installation of landfill gas systems</li>
<li>Knowledge of beneficial use of collected landfill gas</li>
<li>Strong written and oral skills in English</li>
<li>Involvement in and supervision of teams of professionals in this field</li>
<li>Registration in or ability to register with APEGA or other provincial jurisdictions</li>
<li>A minimum of three references will be requested. Examples of written text may be requested.</li>
