Product Analyst

Overview:

You will be a key member of a dedicated squad with a primary focus on upgrading, maintaining, and enhancing a publicly facing portal and related internally developed software applications. As a technical product analyst, you will connect technical, business, and operational team members and facilitate the definition, documentation and prioritization of key features, enhancements, and resolution of defects. You will take guidance from the senior product owner and technical lead on the squad and will work with a broad set of stakeholders within the organization, in Vancouver and Toronto.

Responsibilities:

Elicit and document user stories and requirements for new product features and enhancements


Write clear and testable specifications for the technical implementation teams, including visual mock-ups, flow diagrams, business rules, exception handling etc.

Create and update user guides, knowledgebase articles and operational support documentation for the assigned products

Facilitate problem resolution process with the squad and operational support teams.



Requirements:

Experience in writing system requirements in the form of user stories (e,g, Jira, Confluence) and system specifications / BRDs

Ability to facilitate conversations with business and technical teams, summarize and present action items and features clearly and concisely

Proven experience in facilitating issue resolution (root cause analysis, data analysis, problem replication, change management)


It would be great if you also had:


Formal experience as a technical product owner, systems analyst, product analyst

Experience working on public web portals and good understanding of typical components of web applications

Working knowledge of T-SQL and relational databases


Agile Product Owner or Business Analyst certification.
