Product Manager – CPG

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)

Compensation: $80,000–$95,000 base salary + benefits


About the Opportunity


Our client is a mission-driven food company focused on delivering high-quality, ethically sourced protein products across North America. As the company continues to expand its product portfolio and national retail presence, they are looking to hire a Product Manager to oversee the development, launch, and lifecycle of their growing line of consumer goods.


This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with manufacturing, operations, marketing, and finance to ensure each product delivers on quality, margin, and market expectations.


Key Responsibilities:


Product Development & Portfolio Management

  • Lead the product lifecycle from concept through commercialization
  • Develop and maintain a product roadmap aligned with business goals and consumer trends
  • Conduct competitive analysis and trend research to guide product innovation
  • Define product specifications, cost targets, and performance benchmarks
  • Manage product launches, discontinuations, and SKU rationalization initiatives

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with supply chain, operations, and manufacturing to manage timelines and co-packer relationships
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales to develop go-to-market strategies and promotional plans
  • Work with Finance to monitor costs, margins, and pricing strategy
  • Ensure strong communication across departments to align goals and timelines

Quality & Compliance

  • Oversee regulatory and QA documentation required for product launches
  • Work with internal and external teams to maintain product integrity and compliance
  • Support packaging updates and ingredient changes when needed


Qualifications:


  • 3–5 years of experience in product management, commercialization, or product development in the CPG or food & beverage industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Food Science, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Proven ability to lead projects from ideation through execution
  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with co-manufacturers or co-packers is a strong asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with PLM or ERP systems is a plus
