Program Manager- Residential Care (Barlynn & Walpole) Program Manager- Residential Care (Barlynn & Walpole) Position: Program Manager, Full Time North Shore ConneXions Society supports individuals living with intellectual disabilities to thrive in the unique life they choose. The Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operation of two residences (Barlynn and Walpole House) and their corresponding day program. The Program Manager ensures that all team members operate within the framework of the society’s Mission, Vision, Philosophy, Code of Ethical Conduct, Confidentiality, and Best Practice Standards. Role Responsibilities Managing services, person-centered plans, and risk assessments for the supported individuals living in the residences. Managing the onboarding, coaching & supervision of Residential Care Worker staff in accordance with the Societies’ policies and the Collective Agreement.

Resident intakes including orientation to rights, self-advocacy, and service expectations. Liaising with Community Care Facilities Licensing, CLBC, health, and other professionals. Financial reporting; budget compliance. Managing all aspects of program health and safety requirements including emergency procedures, inspections, medication delivery, critical incidents, and injury reporting according to WorkSafeBC, CARF, and Licensing standards.

Assessing accessibility needs for the supported individuals, staff, and the physical structure Ensuring regular maintenance activities are conducted for residents and vehicle (s). Meeting the requirements of all program funders. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience We are seeking a candidate who is committed to person-centered practices and has a comprehensive knowledge of supporting individuals who have developmental disabilities, health disorders, mental health issues, autism, and issues related to aging. This includes experience with augmentative communication tools/strategies and experience with supporting challenging behaviors.

As an ideal candidate, you will have a strong understanding of applicable policies, frameworks, and systems such as CCFL, CLBC, CARF Accreditation, and Public Trustee/Guardianship issues. You have a demonstrated ability to work with staff teams in a unionized environment, with an emphasis on leadership, teamwork, training, and coaching. You take a proactive approach to your work and have experience in being decisive in a wide variety of situations. Your organizational, time management, and financial management skills are well-developed.

You have proven excellence in communication skills (oral, written, facilitation, and interpersonal). You have the ability to maintain respectful and professional relationships with key stakeholders including supported individuals, families, professionals, and multi-disciplinary teams. Education You have an undergraduate Degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, or a 2-year Diploma in the community support field in combination with one year of direct community support program experience. Evidence of career progression is an asset.

A high level of competence in technology is required including the Microsoft suite of programs, Teams, Zoom, and social media platforms. Experience in ShareVision is an asset. Pre-Requisites: • Class 4 BC DL restricted or a Class 5 with a commitment to obtain Class 4 within the 3 months. • Driver’s abstract demonstrating an acceptable driving record and use of a reliable vehicle.

• Business Insurance – ICBC. • Emergency or Standard First Aid with CPR C and AED training. • Criminal Record Check and tuberculosis screening. • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or Mandt System Training.

• Medical Approval letter (provided by ConneXions). • Proof of vaccination status (1st and 2nd dose). Hours of Work: Hours of work per week: 37. 5 Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.

m. to 4:30 p. m. However, schedule flexibility is required to accommodate program needs and on-call responsibilities.
