They will collaborate and work toward common goals with a diverse group of colleagues in the technical services and operating departments, as well as external contractors. To be successful, we are looking for a self-motivated individual with strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the proven professionalism to effectively collaborate with partners at all levels of the operation. Most importantly, they must demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment and be able to lead change in a multi disciplinary field.

Whether it’s biking and skiing, or the laid-back atmosphere of fishing and hiking, there is something for everyone Working a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off, come experience what work life balance is all about Responsibilities: Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Align project management processes including Teck Project Delivery Framework, management of change, adherence to reporting and schedule commitments, contract preparation and execution as well as construction related engagement with the Operations Teams Provide prioritization, guidance, and technical direction in the development of design and construction standards in the project Proactively facilitate and lead changes in project scope, identify potential challenges and develop contingency plans Provide direction to identify strengths, critical issues, and areas of risks during the execution of the project; ensure that alternatives are developed and evaluated using a total business perspective to obtain the best solution Develop and lead project delivery through the execution stages up to commissioning and project closeout including scope, schedule, and budget development as well as safety, environmental management, communication, engineering, permitting, procurement, construction, quality control and start-up activities Leverage and influence strong project-site decision making through detailed data analysis and sound project practices Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or equivalent, with Civil or Mining specialization Registered, or eligible to register, with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC); Teck will support eligible employees with their EGBC registration Minimum five years’ experience managing in a projects-based role within the Mining industry, including all aspects of project delivery, such as, studies, detail design, procurement, construction, commissioning of large projects, and managing contractors, consultants, and communications with regulators Experience in construction execution within a heavy industrial environment, construction-operational commissioning, field level management of construction teams or construction sequencing and scheduling is considered an asset Knowledge of project hazardous energy isolation development and execution is an asset About Teck Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
