Career Opportunity Based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Geologist to join our growing Exploration Team. Project Geologist – Overview : The Project Geologist will be responsible for assisting and supporting the advancement of CanAlaska’s exploration strategies, principally in Saskatchewan, Canada. They will be responsible for leading and managing exploration programs across CanAlaska’s extensive land portfolio in the Athabasca Basin.

The Project Geologist will develop innovative exploration targets through the application of advanced exploration techniques and analysis of geological data sets. They will be involved in the collection and interpretation of geological data, and the development of new target areas. The Project Geologist will ensure cost-effective exploration programs are executed with a focus on health, safety, and the environment.

Remote work will be required on a rotational schedule between the office and field projects while drilling programs are active. Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Project Geologist, responsibilities will include: Ensure assigned exploration activities are well designed and prioritized to maximize discovery potential in a timely and efficient manner. Assist in proposing budgets and exploration programs including preparation and presentation of annual exploration programs and budgets as required.

Plan, coordinate, and execute cost-effective exploration programs including geological interpretations, diamond drilling, geophysical and geochemical surveys, reporting, and compilations. Track and guide exploration results and recommend adjustments to management as necessary. Engage in and supervise all geological activity including but not limited to core logging, sampling, QAQC, and radiometric probing to ensure industry-standard best practices.

Supervise all related contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Establish drill hole locations and monitor drill hole progress to effectively test targets as directed. Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required for internal and external stakeholders.

Track, report, and forecast exploration project costs on assigned projects. Mentor, train, and coach in the development of Geologists and Technicians. Adhere to company policies, procedures and standards, and legislated requirements with a focus on health, safety, community engagement, and the environment.

Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time Qualifications : Our ideal candidate has: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology (required) 5 – 8 years’ experience in mineral exploration Registered, or have the ability to register for, membership as a Professional Geoscientist in Saskatchewan (APEGS) Experience supervising early-stage to advanced-stage uranium exploration programs in remote locations Strong understanding of geological software (ArcGIS, Target, Leapfrog, or related) Strong understanding of fundamental exploration disciplines, including structural geology, geochemistry, and geophysical methods Understanding of ore deposit models and how to apply them to exploration programs Self-motivated individual capable of leading a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced remote environment Ability to work on a rotational schedule between the office and field project site while supervising active exploration programs. Proven commitment to workplace safety and safety leadership. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Location This position will be based in the Saskatoon office. During exploration programs, the individual will be required to complete regular work rotations to the Project sites. About CanAlaska Uranium Ltd.
