Our client is a Canadian manufacturer who is a leading supplier to Canada’s oil and gas industry based on their dedication to craftsmanship, hard work, and open communication. As a result of growth, we are currently in an active search for Project Manager. Ideally, this position will work out of their Ponoka, Alberta fabrication facility however could also be situated in Edmonton or Calgary.
Overview: The Project Manager oversees all aspects of project lifecycle management, from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. They ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations and company goals. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement efficient project strategies, fostering a shared vision among project teams.
Organize and motivate cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals and success criteria. Allocate project budget and schedule based on estimates, ensuring resource optimization. Analyze and manage project risks effectively to minimize potential impact.
Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders to monitor and control project progress. Manage project documentation and reporting, ensuring comprehensive project records. Facilitate knowledge sharing among all project stakeholders to enhance project outcomes.
Track production rates and profitability throughout project lifecycles. Delegate tasks and responsibilities to team members, promoting an effective and cohesive team environment. Negotiate resources and resolve challenges to ensure project success.
Specific Tasks: Manage multiple major projects concurrently, aligning project goals with corporate objectives. Define project scopes and resource requirements, developing clear execution and monitoring plans. Establish milestones, deadlines, and project schedules, maintaining regular updates to stakeholders.
Monitor project budgets to prevent overruns and optimize cash flow. Evaluate and manage client/vendor terms and conditions. Coordinate third-party activities as necessary.
Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring minimal impact on project deliverables. Monitor project expenditures and team performance, addressing deviations as needed. Ensure comprehensive project documentation, including lessons learned and achievements.
Proactively resolve project roadblocks to maintain project momentum. Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and address on-site issues. Corporate Expectations: Collaborate effectively with internal teams and departments.
Adhere to safety standards and company policies. Champion company values and initiatives. Seek continuous improvement and innovation.
Demonstrate ownership mentality and customer focus. Ability to travel minimally (2-4 days per month) Qualifications: 5 years of experience in Oil and Gas or related industries. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset but not required.
Experience in Project Management Office (PMO) environments. Construction management or fabrication experience with tanks or vessels is a definite asset. Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6). Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and financial acumen.
This role requires a proactive leader capable of driving project success through effective planning, communication, and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating both technical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality results aligned with corporate objectives. Remuneration for this position will consists of a base salary between $100-140K commensurate upon experience, bonus and full benefit program.
