Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a Data Centre Migration project involving bare metal (physical server) lift-and-shift activities across critical infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical project management expertise combined with a deep understanding of data centre operations and physical server infrastructure. This is a high-impact role within a fast-paced financial services organization undergoing major transformation of its core infrastructure platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and execution of large-scale Data Centre Migration projects including bare metal lift-and-shift activities.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, application, and facilities teams to develop detailed migration plans and schedules.
• Manage all aspects of the project lifecycle, including scoping, risk assessment, budgeting, resource management, change management, and reporting.
• Oversee physical move logistics (racking, cabling, decommissioning, validation) with a clear focus on minimizing downtime and maintaining business continuity.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to execute moves efficiently and securely.
• Track and report project status, risks, and issues to leadership and business stakeholders on a regular basis.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, regulatory, and data governance standards during all migration activities.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 7+ years of project management experience, with 3+ years in Data Centre Migration / Lift-and-Shift projects (bare metal/physical servers).
• Strong understanding of infrastructure components: servers, storage, network, power/cooling, and cabling.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage high-risk, high-visibility initiatives.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in PM tools like MS Project, JIRA, or similar.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Financial services industry experience.
• Experience with data centre consolidations, cloud migration prep, or disaster recovery planning.
• ITIL or other service management framework knowledge.

Work Environment:

Fast-paced, regulated environment with tight timelines and high availability requirements.

Potential weekend/off-hours work during migration cutovers.
