Quality Control Inspector

Junior – Intermediate Level Quality Control Inspector We are a Calgary based manufacturing company and recognized leading supplier of various engineered equipment including oilfield steam generators, heat recovery steam generators, waste heat recovery units, direct fired thermal fluid heaters, flare stacks, arrestors and associated combustion equipment. The position is located at the Company’s manufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta, and will appeal to a career oriented energetic individual willing to work in a team environment. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate with all levels of production personnel, our other QC team members as well as ABSA and customer inspectors.

As a minimum, candidates must have achieved a CSA Level 1 Welding Inspector certification, but preference will be given to those candidates having level 2 or 3 certification. In addition, the following would be considered assets to the position; 1) NDE Certification (MT, PT, UT, RT) under CGSB and/or SNT-TC-1A, 2) Working knowledge of ASME Section IX, V, and Inspection, 3) Application of Materials & Welding aspects of ASME Section VIII, I, B31.1 &/or B31.3. 4) Welding Examiner Certificate of Competency for the Province of Alberta. Job activities will comprise but not be limited to: o Perform inspections and tests as required by the discipline assigned o Setting up, coordinating and auditing of Radiography & other NDE sub-contractors o Inspection of weld quality and tracking of job qualified welder processes & variables o Prepare inspection/test reports and maintain all QA/QC files related to jobs. o Promote and maintain effective communication with production personnel, the project management team, and external inspectors o Track and log non-conformance reports, quality/productivity improvement reports o Perform and report on inspection of incoming materials, including verification of MTRs o Interpret construction codes and standards o Effectively read and interpret fabrication drawings. o Proficiently utilize the companies computer support programs (Spreadsheet, Word Processing, Communication & Meetings & Basic Drafting programs) to communicate effectively and prepare and compile NDE, Material and Welder tracking documents & reports.
