This job posting is for an existing vacancy. We’re looking for our next Manager, Product – Secured Lending. Could It Be You?

Questbank is growing, and we are looking for a hands‑on Manager to drive the commercial success of our Secured Lending portfolio.

In this role, you will be the business lead, owning the value proposition for Alt‑A and future lending products. You will act as the strategic business partner to Product Managers, pulling the pricing and promotion levers needed to help them achieve their P&L targets, and working side‑by‑side with Finance and Sales to ensure our products are competitive, profitable, and positioned to win.

Key Responsibilities

  • Value Prop Ownership: Define and articulate the commercial value proposition for our Alt‑A and future lending products, determining packaging of rate, fee, and policy to create a compelling offer for the broker.

  • Manage Rate Sheets: Own the daily/weekly execution of product updates, ensuring products and pricing convey the right value to the market across all distribution points.

  • Competitor Intelligence: Track competitor rates and “promo” offers daily, identifying erosion of our value proposition due to market moves and recommending tactical adjustments to regain our edge.

  • Business Inputs: Act as the advisor to Finance, providing critical market inputs—competitor moves, broker feedback, and sensitivity analysis—to update pricing models and recommend where we should price to win.

  • Forecasting Collaboration: Partner directly with the Finance Business Partner (FBP) to build monthly volume forecasts, supplying data‑driven market assumptions (seasonality, pipeline trends) that power the budget.

  • Business Analysis: Monitor volume trends and product mix, explaining the “why” behind performance and linking volume results back to pricing and value proposition.

  • Product Manager Collaboration: Collaborate with Product Managers to design pricing structures that support their strategy, turning financial goals into executable market rates.

  • Sales Enablement: Empower the BDM team to sell “Value over Rate,” providing talking points, competitive comparisons, and cheat sheets so brokers understand why they should choose Questbank.

  • Campaign Management: Collaborate with Sales to design tactical promotions (e.g., points buydowns), determining campaign ROI and ensuring alignment with our broader value strategy.

  • New Product Commercialization: Support the Director in launching new verticals, focusing on Go‑to‑Market strategy: defining the buy box, pricing structure, and launch story.

So are YOU our next Manager, Product – Secured Lending? You are if you…

Qualifications (Must‑Haves)

  • 6+ years in financial services, with specific experience in mortgage lending.

  • Broker channel knowledge: understand how broker market works and that “Value” is a mix of Rate, Commission, and Ease of Use.

  • Advanced Excel skills are non‑negotiable; manipulate large data sets to find answers.

  • Commercial acumen: understand basics of lending economics—rates, volume vs. margin trade‑offs, and competitive positioning.

Assets (Nice‑to‑Haves)

  • Multi‑Asset Class Experience: exposure to lending products beyond residential mortgages (Commercial, Multi‑Family, Construction lending).

  • Product Launch Experience: participation in the launch of a new product line or new market segment.

  • Treasury Exposure: understanding of how banks fund mortgages (securitization vs. deposits) and how transfer pricing works.

  • SQL/Data Visualization: experience using tools like SQL, Tableau, or PowerBI to visualize portfolio performance.

Three days of in‑office presence per week is required for Greater Toronto Area (GTA) residents. Candidates residing outside the GTA may apply for a remote workplace arrangement.

Compensation Information

Base salary range: $120,000 - $150,000. The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for full‑time permanent roles.
