For more information about Alberta Infrastructure, please visit http://www.infrastructure.alberta.ca The Recycled Furniture Coordinator plays an integral part of the Recycled Furniture Program by supporting the Recycled Furniture Program Supervisor with acquisition, cataloging and assessment of incoming furniture. The Recycled Furniture Program is an integral part of the Government of Alberta (GoA) Furniture Management Program, providing good quality used furniture to ministries, boards, and agencies to achieve significant cost savings for the GoA while also aligning with the Government Greening Strategy.The Recycled Furniture Program provides systems furniture workstations, free-standing workstations, and case-good furniture through acquisition of discounted goods and furniture no longer required by GoA business areas.
The primary responsibilities of the Recycled Furniture Coordinator include (but are not limited to): Supporting Furniture Coordinators in their planning of recycled systems workstations by verifying available components, notification of shortages and/or required substitutions. Acting as a subject matter expert of the furniture inventory. Ensuring install vendors are adhering to the program’s vendor expectations document and all OHS requirements.
Ensuring that all items are in good condition and suitable to deploy. Any damage noted is brought to the attention of the supervisor and Furniture Coordinator for resolution or substitution. Scheduling and performing frequent and regular rolling audits of warehouse furniture inventory, identifying variations and researching discrepancies.
Collaborating with the supervisor to review and resolve inventory discrepancies. Acting as the designated Surplus Agent, responsibly declaring and removing furniture from inventory as necessary. Reporting to the Recycled Furniture Program Supervisor and serving as the primary backup, ensuring continuity of operations including emergency access coverage of warehouse.
To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate: Effective consultation and interpersonal skills to interact with staff members, clients, vendors, and movers. Analytical and research skills to analyze, compile and present information; develop and recommend viable solutions; and investigate and resolve unusual situations. Leadership skills, particularly in relation to overseeing vendors and movers at the warehouse.

Qualifications Requirements: High School Diploma with six (6) years of experience with various lines of office furniture installations Assets: Inventory experience. Forklift, power jack, and pallet jack experience. First Aid and WHMIS certification.
Knowledge of GoA policies and standards relating to accommodations/furniture planning and coordination. Experience with vendor/contractor services that relate to the delivery of furniture requirements. GoA standing offers with furniture vendors and associated blanket contracts.
Term of Employment: Full time permanent Hours of Work: 36.25 hours per week / 7.25 hours daily (Monday – Friday) Location: Edmonton, Alberta Final candidates will be required to undergo a security screening.
