OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications for a motivated and experienced, Regional Director Urban Development & Infrastructure (Ontario). The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our Vertex offices in Ontario, focusing on the growth and technical execution of various environmental and geotechnical projects in the province, particularly those associated with the real estate sector. The candidate will report to the Director Urban Development & Infrastructure.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Geology or Engineering. A masters degree is considered an asset.
  • 6 to 10 years of professional work experience in environmental field, with specific client experience in the Ontario real estate sector.
  • P.Eng. or P.Geo designation in good standing with PEO or PGO is required.
  • Existing QP or QPra designation or ability to obtain.
  • Experience in developing client relationships and business development to expand business in the real estate sector is required.
  • Proficiency with spoken and written English language.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
  • Valid class 5 drivers license.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TECHNICAL

  • Act as and work with other Senior Technical Specialists on the execution of Environmental Site Assessment Projects both under CSA and O.Reg guidelines
  • Work with technical teams on developing practice guidelines and client approaches
  • QA / QC responsibilities working with Director Technical Services on ensuring national technical approach is applied regionally and specifically to the Ontario market
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clientsbuilding trust through regular communication, meetings, and progress updates

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & THOUGHT LEADERSHIP

  • Work with teams to grow and retain existing customers.
  • Support business development team on converting leads and managing technical proposals with Vertex bids team.
  • Connect with and integrate all stakeholders in real estate market including, government agencies, municipalities, developers and financial institutions
  • Direct client manager, working to source new and manage existing customer relationships
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with engineering firms, developers, contractors, and government agencies
  • Other duties as directed by your direct supervisor or manager.

COMPLIMENTARY SERVICES (GEOTECHNICAL & BIOPHYSICAL SERVICES)

  • Work with biophysical and geotechnical teams on project execution to cross sell other Vertex services and increase value proposition to client.
  • Work with business development and technical teams on service and product offering and client delivery for real estate customers.

LOCATION

  • This position is based out of the GTA
  • Vertex allows a hybrid structure for working from home.
  • The position is permanent and full-time (40hrs/week)
