Apply today to join our team As a Registered Nurse in Emergency you will: Use clinical judgement skills to diagnose and treat the patient, resident, client and significant others’ responses to actual or potential health conditions. Assess, monitor, detect, plan, and take appropriate action to prevent potential complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatments of the patient.

Knowledgeable of and adheres to standards of professional nursing and patient care practice in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Graduate of an approved nursing program. Completion of a post graduate program in clinical speciality and up to two years’ experience or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to implement the nursing process and use clinical judgement. Ability to deal with others effectively. Ability to set priorities. Ability to instruct and direct the work of others.

Time management and organizational abilities. Working knowledge of computers and their application preferred. Demonstrated skill in CPR. Working knowledge of and ability to operate related healthcare equipment.

Physical ability to perform the duties of the position. Required skills: Emergency nursing specialty or equivalent recent experience. RN first call or equivalent recent experience. ACLS, CTAS and NRP.

Shift Times: 0830-2030/ 0800-1600/ 0800-1800/ 0800-2000/ 0900-1700/ 1000-2200/ 1100-2100/ 1200- 2000/ 1400-2200/ 1430-2230/ 1500-2300/ 1530-2330/ on call 2230-0830/ on call 2100-0800/ on call 2200- 0800 The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
