The Safety Coordinator works to uphold the safety culture of Broadstreet Properties and its employees. The role will maintain the current safety program while working with key stakeholders to enhance existing materials. The ideal candidate has a strong safety background and a passion for maintaining a safe workplace.

The position will be located in Edmonton, Alberta . Your contribution to the team includes: Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Regulations, and make recommendations for their implementation. Responsible for monitoring adherence to the company safety program.

Lead the safety meetings and ensure proper documentation and record keeping. Provide advice to regional staff on safety-related requirements and regulations. Coordinate inspections and occupational safety activities with departments.

Research occupational safety information to assure the best available methods are adopted to minimize the hazards in the workplace. Track safety certificates and perform safety audits, and report completion to management. Write a variety of safety related documentation including policies, procedures, safety talks and internal communications.

What you need to be successful: Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, related designation or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years in administrative or coordination’s related role. Minimum 1 years’ experience in a safety related role an asset.

Strong research background. Excellent presentation and communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.

Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments and employees. Excellent in all MS Office suite of products. High level of personal integrity and confidentiality.
