Job Title: Scheduler

Job Description

This field-based scheduling role supports industrial construction activities for a large project in Fort Saskatchewan. As a Scheduler, you will work closely with the project team on-site, ensuring accurate planning and execution across multiple phases of work. The role is hands-on and execution-focused, requiring strong technical scheduling expertise and the ability to collaborate with field supervision and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and coordination sessions with project teams and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain detailed schedules for construction activities, including resource loading and management.
• Integrate subcontractor schedules into the master plan and manage scope changes.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule integrity.
• Support site leadership in aligning field activities with overall project timelines.

Essential Skills

• 10+ years of scheduling experience in construction, ideally with a general contractor on large-scale industrial projects.
• Advanced proficiency in P6—able to build, maintain, and analyze schedules independently.
• Strong Excel skills for reporting, data manipulation, and schedule analysis.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and proposal documents.
• Experience with Time Impact Analysis and schedule delay methodologies.
• Experience through the bid and estimation phase of a project.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Capex project experience in an industrial setting.
• Strong data management skills and proficiency in scheduling tools.
• Exposure to 4D scheduling is a bonus but not required.
• Familiarity with 1M+ man-hour projects is a strong asset.
• Strong communication skills—able to present clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage scope changes and schedule impacts under pressure.

Work Environment

This full-time, on-site position is located at the Fort Saskatchewan. The position requires 50 regular hours per week plus overtime as needed. CSTS certification and Drug & Alcohol testing are required for site access.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edmonton, AB.

The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr.
