Find out more about our programs and impact at <span >www.raisingthevillage.org.</span></p><p><strong>Role Description</strong></p><p>We are seeking a Senior Advisor of Data & Insights to lead our evidence generation and impact measurement agenda. This role with strengthen RTV&#39;s capacity to design, manage, and communicate high-quality research and evaluation frameworks that inform program design, scaling, and policy engagement. </p><p>The ideal candidate brings a strong background in development economics, quantitative research, and monitoring & evaluation within the international development sector. They are skilled at transforming complex datasets into policy-relevant insights and translating evidence into actionable recommendations for program teams, funders, and government partners. </p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><em>Research, Evaluation, and Learning</em></p><ul><li>Design and oversee RTV&#39;s impact evaluation frameworks, including quasi-experimental and experimental designs (DiD, RCTs, natural experiments, etc.). </li><li>Ensure RTV&#39;s methodologies and data practices meet academic and sectoral standards for rigor and credibility. </li><li>Partner with internal and external teams to generate evidence-based learning and insights that shape RTV&#39;s program strategy and scaling model. </li><li>Produce or supervise the production of research briefs, reports, and publications that communicate RTV&#39;s impact and learning to diverse audiences. </li></ul><p><em>Data and Evidence Systems</em></p><ul><li>Provide strategic oversight for RTV&#39;s data governance and quality systems, ensuring consistency and reliability across country programs. </li><li>Strengthen systems for data collection, validation, and analysis that underpin our impact measurement framework. </li><li>Promote evidence-informed decision-making across RTV by developing accessible tools, dashboards, and summary products for program and leadership teams. </li></ul><p><em>Insights Generation and Translation</em></p><ul><li>Synthesize findings from research and monitoring activities into clear, actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders. </li><li>Collaborate with the Applied Learning and Communications teams to translate research results into policy briefs, donor reports, and external thought leadership. </li><li>Contribute to knowledge dissemination, including conferences, publications, and strategic partnerships with academic or research institutions. </li></ul><p><em>Partnerships and Representation</em></p><ul><li>Represent RTV&#39;s evidence approach in research and policy forums.</li><li>Build and maintain partnerships with universities, research organizations, and government agencies. </li><li>Contribute to funding proposals and donor engagement by articulating RTV&#39;s data and evidence value proposition. </li></ul><p><em>Leadership and Capacity Building</em></p><ul><li>Lead and mentor a small team of analysts and M&E professionals.</li><li>Strengthen local capacity for evidence generation within RTV&#39;s Africa-based teams. </li><li>Foster a culture of learning, rigor, and continuous improvement across the organization. </li></ul><p><strong>Skills & Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Advanced degree (Master&#39;s or PhD) in Development Economics, Public Policy, Applied Statistics, or a related field. </li><li>10+ years of professional experience in applied research, M&E, or policy analysis within the international development sector. </li><li>Proven experience designing and managing impact evaluations and applying quantitative methods to assess program outcomes. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research outputs (publications, reports, policy briefs). </li><li>Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical findings to no-technical audiences. </li><li>Experience collaborating with donors, governments, and academic partners.</li><li>Proficiency in Stat, R, or Python, and familiarity with survey tools (ODK, SurveyCTO, KoboToolbox). </li></ul><p><em>Preferred Attributes</em></p><ul><li>Experience working in Sub-Saharan Africa or similar development contexts. </li><li>Record of academic or policy publications in development or applied economics. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead multi-country data or evaluation initiatives. </li><li>Comfortable navigating both research and implementation environments.</li></ul><ul></ul></p></p>
