Key Responsibilities and Function:

  • Individuals within the Business Analysis job family are responsible for ensuring that business requirements are clearly identified, prioritized, and satisfied by appropriate technical and/or business process solutions.
  • The Business Analysis role continues throughout the development lifecycle of any solution. Key responsibilities include eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business requirements, process flows, identifying system and process solution components, producing functional specifications for solution components or integrated solutions.
  • At the highest levels, they can help identify and address business opportunities with innovative business architectures.
  • Business Analysis professionals define test cases, validate individual functions and overall solution delivery, and may be directly involved in testing.
  • They may also be responsible for identifying, analyzing, reporting, and helping mitigate IT risks, as well as ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place, maintained, and tested for critical processes, including coordinating related activities.
  • Individuals in this role are involved in setting technology and business strategies and ensuring their convergence, providing a key interface between users and developers, requiring deep business knowledge and technical awareness.
  • Typically working on projects impacting multiple departments or workgroups, such as “Cable” or on “Large” projects.
  • They possess expertise in multiple business areas and integration points, e.g., “Sales and Finance Commissions”.
  • Analysis is performed for projects affecting customer service or revenue, often on multiple unrelated projects simultaneously.
  • They suggest work packages, determine deliverables, resources, schedules, and generate/document requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and analysis in complex environments.
  • Refine requirements using evaluation techniques and communicate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Prepare documentation on benefits, use cases, processes, workflows, data flows, risk analysis, user adoption, and organizational impacts.
  • Represent clients to identify solutions, prioritize options, and propose system requirements.
  • Provide testing input, develop and conduct training, and identify problem areas or conflicts, proposing resolutions.
  • Champion system development resolutions, ensure project alignment with strategies, influence plans and processes, and stay informed on industry trends.
  • Contribute to standards development, determine staffing, and may select team members.

Must Haves:

  • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience (ServiceNow experience is an asset)
  • ServiceNow experience (coverage of Operations)
  • Skilled in process modeling, functional specifications, stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge technical and business language
  • Experience with multiple SDLC/Project Management methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with strategic impact
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
