Senior Civil Engineer, Building Restoration - Mississauga, Hamilton, Pickering, Newmarket, Barrie or Collingwood
Overview
Are you an experienced civil engineer with a passion for tackling complex building challenges and developing lasting client relationships? A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Building Restoration Group, providing leadership across a broad portfolio of restoration projects throughout North Central Ontario.
This position offers the opportunity to work from various office locations while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of building restoration projects, including concrete repairs, cladding renewal, roof replacements, capital planning, and condition assessments.
- Cultivate and manage client relationships by delivering exceptional service and technical solutions.
- Prepare project proposals, tender packages, and contract documents; oversee financials and invoicing.
- Administer contracts and manage construction-phase services, including field inspections.
- Provide oversight and professional sign-off on technical reports and documentation.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture.
- Coordinate with contractors, sub-consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Track and manage project schedules, budgets, and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain strong communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience in building science or building restoration.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Applied Science, or related discipline.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario.
- Building Science Specialist (BSS) designation considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary projects and client portfolios.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a consulting environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; adaptable to new tools and platforms.
