Overview Our Calgary office is seeking a Senior Designer who will report to the Partners and Project Managers. The role will be an integral part of the design team responsible for leading a group of enthusiastic designers. We currently have a hybrid remote-working scenario in effect, 3 days in the office and 2 days flex / work-from-home, but this is subject to change.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Responsibilities We are seeking a Senior Designer who will: Lead design focus and encourage a vibrant and enthusiastic design office encourage a vibrant and enthusiastic design office Oversee design workshops/charrettes and present design solutions with internal team and clients Lead design strategies, related documents and presentations that support project directives to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives· Direct conceptual renderings, artwork and graphic materials and design intent specifications for the entire design team and ensure alignment with project goals and objective Review all deliverables and provide QA/QC on projects and at all phases.· Create and direct storytelling component/design brief and ensure it is present in all conceptual designs Work with the design team in creating conceptual renderings, artwork, and graphic materials; and design intent specifications Explore the use and keep abreast of new materials and methods and mentor design team Oversee all design staff and provide guidance throughout all stages of the project Develop and identify goals and standards required for the project· Oversee organization and distribution of internal designer resources (i.e. Knowledge Management database) Ability to oversee multiple projects from an aesthetic standpoint and contribute to the overall success of the project Take responsibility and ownership of smaller scale projects and coordinate with management group on larger projects Seek and create opportunities to speak at industry/educational events, develop presentations, ideate with other Creative Directors on trending topics, coordinate shop visits, and participate in social events Mentor and delegate design tasks to junior, intermediate, and senior designers in coordination with the PM to meet timelines and deliverables; assist with managing team resources Promote positive communication both internally and externally Assist Partners in the hiring interview, annual reviews, exit interviews, onboarding of design staff Seek out new business opportunities, clients, and partnerships; attend networking events and build new client relationships Assist in proposals with schedule, design phases and project team structure as requiredMeet with Project Manager & design staff to define project needs including staffing, budgeting, timing, and project expectations Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in graphic design or related field Preference will be given to candidates with 8 years of relevant experience in the wayfinding and signage industry Experience in a professional services environment preferred Proficiency in Adobe CS (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), and Microsoft Office Experience in directing complex design projects involving a creative design team and senior stakeholders Highly creative with the passion to innovate and encourage a vibrant design office Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Positive and enthusiastic team player and ability to work independently and follow-through Strong organizational, time management and problem-solving skills Working at Entro At Entro, we understand our strength is our people.
