Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of junior estimators - delegate tasks and review work
- Review RFQ documents for risks and opportunities
- Develop BOM's Labour hour estimates and subcontractor scopes and pricing
- Liaise with cross-functional departments (engineering, procurement, operations, finance) to develop estimates
- Review subcontractor and material quotes for accuracy and completeness (risks and opportunities)
- Support operations with change order quotations (as requested)
- Develop preliminary project schedules with cross-functional teams (HR, Operations, planning, etc.)
- Generate and submit proposals and manage proposal deliverables
Requirements:
- Estimating experience in manufacturing and heavy industrial fabrication - marine preferred
- Preferred - Demonstrate experience in dry docking projects, steel renewals, machinery installation and overhaul, complex refits
- Preferred - Strong understanding of class, PSPC, CCG, and DND requirements
- Engineering or technologist degree
- Journeyperson background (welding, millwright, pipefitter, electrician)
- Technical & Systems Skills
- Advanced Excel workforce & cost modelling
- Business Central or equivalent ERP systems
- AutoCAD or similar engineering software
