Senior Financial Analyst
Job Description
Position Summary
The primary goal of this position is to contribute to accurate financial reporting for the North American Bus and Coach business unit by working collaboratively within the Internal Group Accounting team. The role supports NFI Group finance leadership in implementing standardized accounting policies and processes, assists with project work as needed, and plays a key part in ensuring timely and compliant submission of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial results.
What You Will Do
- Preparation of consolidated financial statements to provide to parent company for consolidations, including income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flow, and statement of shareholders’ equity.
- Work closely with External Reporting team on financial statement note disclosures and other consolidation requests.
- Monthly calculations for historical rates and FX.
- Manage accounting of property and equipment leases.
- Eliminating intercompany balances.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support and interact with various functional groups within Finance and Operations.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
Qualifications
- Completion of a business degree/diploma or relevant combination of education and experience
- Completion of a professional accounting designation or enrolment in an accounting program (CPA) considered an asset
- Knowledge of IFRS
- Prior experience in a finance/accounting function
- Ability to converse in a professional manner in both written and verbal communication
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills
- Analytical problem solver with capabilities to work within a fast‑paced team environment
- Strong MS Excel skills and ability to learn new systems
- Experience with Oracle considered an asset
- Upto 5% travel is required in this position.
