Senior Foreman – Reford Cardinal Energy Ltd. is an upstream oil & gas company with assets in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. With a track record of sustainable energy practices and innovation in the oil and gas sector over the past 10 years, Cardinal Energy is now entering the development of thermal heavy oil projects in Saskatchewan. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Foreman to lead our Reford Thermal Project.

Position Overview As the Senior Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in the successful development and operation of Reford Thermal project in Saskatchewan. You will be responsible for regulatory compliance with TSASK as the Chief Power Engineer. You will be supporting the construction, commissioning, and leading the ongoing operations of the Reford Thermal project.

This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record in the thermal heavy oil industry. This position is based out of Reford SK, located 19km South of Wilkie, SK. Experience and Qualifications: Minimum Class 2 power engineering certification is required.

Proven experience in building and commissioning greenfield SAGD projects in Saskatchewan or similar thermal heavy oil environments. At least 8 years of experience in the thermal heavy oil industry, with a strong understanding of SAGD operations and technologies. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of professionals.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and environmental compliance standards. Key Responsibilities: Lead, direct, and recruit a best-in-class field team, aiming to expand the team to 20 members by Q2-2025.

Support the creation and implementation of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and ERP (Emergency Response Plan) programs to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate operational risks. Develop project-specific safety procedures and operational protocols (e.g., SOPs) to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. Support project management activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and cost control, to ensure timely project delivery within budgetary constraints.

Support the creation and implementation of maintenance programs for facility and pipeline operations, prioritizing asset integrity and reliability. Engage with stakeholders, including government field officers and landowners, to address concerns, and maintain positive relationships. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including TSASK regulations, and oversee administrative tasks related to compliance reporting and documentation.

Support the creation and implementation of asset integrity programs to monitor and maintain the reliability and performance of project assets. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact. Participate in HAZOP sessions, conduct P&ID and 3D model reviews to identify potential hazards and optimize facility design.
