Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Battery Energy Storage

Hybrid (50/50 onsite/remote)

You will be joining a cleantech start up that is developing large scale energy storage systems using never done before technology.


Although going through seed funding, they are revenue generating, have products out in the field and already and have a number of strategic partnerships.


The role:

You will design and develop racking, enclosure, and ventilation systems for their energy storage units from blank sheet of paper, through detailed to design to manufacture and installation.


Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Thermal design of indoor and outdoor enclosures
  • Design of mechanical components, subassemblies, and high-level system integration
  • Supporting overall architecture design decisions based on external client requirements
  • Creating 3D CAD models, assembly drawings, bill of materials
  • Creating manufacturability checklists and leading DFM reviews
  • Supporting failure analysis investigations and development of FMEA
  • Developing relationships with OEMs, vendors, manufacturers, and key suppliers
  • Mechanical design and documentation to support UL product certification
