<p><b>Job Summary:</b> Join us on an exciting project and make history! The New Surrey Hospital and Cancer Centre is a landmark project. Located on a greenfield site, this project will be the first net‑new hospital in BC in nearly 20 years. The project is complex and involves the integration of a community hospital with a regional cancer centre under one roof. It will be constructed in a single phase and is anticipated to complete in late 2029. The facility will feature key acute care services including virtual health, inpatient, outpatient, emergency and surgical services integrated with a cancer centre focused on cancer care, treatment, research and education. We are seeking a dynamic Senior Project Manager with an Electrical Engineering background to support design and construction activities.</p>
<p><b>Qualifications:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Education: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or related field. Professional designation plus 7–10 years of recent, related, progressive experience in all phases of project planning, design and construction management for a large complex organization.</li>
<li>Professional & Technical Capabilities: Knowledge of capital project planning and implementation processes, comprehensive knowledge of project management principles, ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications, effective management of simultaneous projects, broad knowledge of patient care delivery systems, stakeholder analysis, supervisory skills, strong organizational and prioritization abilities, attention to detail, proficiency with relevant software, and physical ability to perform duties.</li>
<li>Competencies: Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring and Courageous and creates the conditions for people to succeed.</li>
<li>Experience: Extensive experience in the technical design of electrical systems for healthcare or similar institutional buildings. Solid understanding of applicable building codes, CSA and other relevant standards. Experience with stakeholder engagement, contract management, and facility planning initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Manage planning and implementation of new facilities, large renovations and portfolios of smaller projects from initial planning through to completion.</li>
<li>Establish project team structure, supervise staff, orientate, develop retention plans and conduct performance evaluations.</li>
<li>Ensure effective communication channels, provide concise reports to Redevelopment leadership regarding progress, challenges and opportunities.</li>
<li>Apply Redevelopment project methodologies to complete project components efficiently, monitor charter, budget, scope, schedule, expenditures, client satisfaction and risks, and recommend mitigations.</li>
<li>Lead business plan development for large capital projects including feasibility studies, solution development, charter, scope, budgets and implementation planning.</li>
<li>Manage strategic space and facility planning initiatives, site master plans, regional planning studies, capital funding strategies and asset leveraging opportunities.</li>
<li>Serve as redevelopment site coordinator monitoring all planning and project activities on designated site(s) and liaising with leadership.</li>
<li>Oversee planning, design and contract preparation, review and sign off schematic designs, design development documents and working drawings, and facilitate all stages of construction and commissioning.</li>
<li>Engage professional consultants and contractors, manage contracts, oversee performance, negotiate changes and resolve disputes within authorized limits.</li>
<li>Liaise with municipal Planning and Engineering Departments for permits and approvals.</li>
<li>Build and maintain relationships to promote site interests, influence decision‑making, and ensure adherence to quality control and risk management protocols.</li>
<li>Recruit, orient and develop staff through training needs assessment and development plans.</li>
<li>Update department knowledge of current and emerging facility design and innovations through evidence‑based design, and develop and coordinate facilities planning standards and policies.</li>
