Senior Project Manager


MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our client, a leading commercial interiors contractor based in Surrey. This team is known for fast‑paced delivery, strong client relationships, and a modern, tech‑forward approach to construction.


In this role, you will drive a major $8M+ campus retrofit and a pipeline of high‑value TI projects. This is a chance to own a core campus retrofit from preconstruction through turnover while leading a high‑volume TI portfolio ranging from $3M–$15M. Responsibilities



  • Issue contracts and request insurance, bonds, and WCB documentation.

  • Set up processes, cost codes, and project controls.

  • Manage schedules, budgets, change orders, meeting minutes, submittals, and field reports using Timberline and Microsoft tools.

  • Maintain accurate financial and progress reporting.

  • Oversee subtrades and suppliers.

  • Resolve issues late in design or during construction.

  • Maintain quality, schedule, and consistency across project phases.

  • Partner with Site Supervisors to manage sequencing, safety, and site execution.

  • Ensure alignment between field operations and project goals.

  • Lead meetings with clients, architects, and consultants.

  • Navigate campus stakeholders and multi‑unit environments.

  • Manage full project budgets and reporting.

  • Prepare monthly progress claims.

  • Review and approve subtrade and supplier invoices.


Qualifications



  • 5–10 years of experience in commercial construction.

  • Strong background in tenant improvements, retrofit, campus environments, or multi‑unit conversions.

  • Experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Coordinator; Site Superintendent experience is an asset.

  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and procurement.

  • Post‑secondary technical education (BCIT or equivalent).

  • Strong communication and documentation skills; highly organized and financially focused.

  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating with field and office teams.

  • Ability to travel to multiple sites across BC.
