A fast-growing startup is seeking a
Research Engineer
with strong foundations in 3D graphics and a passion for turning cutting-edge research into production-ready systems. This role focuses on real-time spatial streaming and rendering for AR/VR use cases on low-power devices, using techniques such as
Gaussian splatting ,
NeRFs , and
differentiable rendering .
What You’ll Do
Conduct applied research in 3D data representation, compression, and view synthesis.
Rapidly prototype and optimize algorithms for deployment in real-time rendering pipelines.
Collaborate with rendering and systems engineers to define data formats and performance targets for mobile hardware.
Translate academic research into scalable, performant solutions.
Must-Have Qualifications
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Published research
in radiance fields, real-time rendering, NeRFs, photogrammetry, or closely related domains (e.g., SIGGRAPH, CVPR, ECCV, NeurIPS) — or demonstrable industry contributions in those areas.
Advanced C++ and Python programming skills.
Proven ability to read, reproduce, and apply complex research papers.
Deep understanding of 3D graphics pipelines and spatial data structures.
Experience with Unity or Unreal Engine. (bonus)
Mobile GPU optimization (Metal, Vulkan) or WebGL knowledge. (bonus)
Familiarity with cloud workflows for 3D asset transformation and streaming. (bonus)
