Role Summary

Join our Mobile integration Quality Assurance (QA) team, where you will assume a pivotal role in the testing and quality assurance of our mobile application and vehicle firmware. Utilizing automation, manual testing, or semi-automated methods, you will contribute to the verification of software against established standards and the validation of its functionality.

In addition to testing, you may be required to contribute to the development and enhancement of automated tools, internal tools, and infrastructure to support scalability. As a key team member, your responsibilities will extend beyond the validation of mobile applications, encompassing the initiation of improvements, the identification of issues, collaboration across teams, and the meticulous testing and verification of bug fixes until resolution.

Responsibilities

  1. Designing and developing internal tools to test vehicle firmware, cloud, mobile app, and web app, including automation frameworks for web or mobile, API Testing Framework, JMeter for performance testing, vehicle simulators, software to control hardware or Raspberry Pi, RF (BLE, UWB), and IOT devices.
  2. Architecting and developing DevOps pipelines using various tools: AWS, Jenkins, Gitlab, Docker, and more.
  3. Creating and improving test strategies to test release builds and coordinating with engineering managers to release the builds on schedule to the market. Leading the team to implement the test plan.
  4. Collaborating with product and development teams to create test strategies, test plans, and test cases for app features, ensuring quality and performance of applications to specifications.
  5. Identifying potential problems and working with developers to resolve application bottlenecks. Supporting failure analysis and root cause analysis for test and integration issues.
  6. Architecting, building, and maintaining electronic parts and equipment on test benches and test vehicles – RxT and RxS.
  7. Leading junior members in the team.
  8. Growing your skills with continual learning, workshops, conferences, and talks.
  9. This position requires hands-on physical interaction with the hardware and the Rivian vehicles in the Vancouver office.


Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  2. 5+ years of hands-on experience in the software test cycle, including test strategies, test plans, and test cases from low level to high level software, familiar with the test pyramid.
  3. Excellent coding skills and understanding of design principles.
  4. Experience with Appium and Python for at least 2 years.
  5. Experience developing automation tools, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines using Selenium, Appium, API testing, and various DevOps tools.
  6. Familiarity with code versioning tools including GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, and others. Use Git bash.
  7. Familiarity with various React, React Native, APIs, DB, AWS, IOT, and related technologies.
  8. Experience with best-in-class software development practices and DevOps practices.
  9. Experience with electronic parts, firmware, electrical equipment, and other hardware.
  10. Familiarity with iOS/Android frameworks and platforms, MacOS, Linux, and Windows, with the ability to configure and manage these platforms.
  11. Top-notch teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaboratively work with and influence cross-functional teams.
  12. Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
  13. Organized, willing to share and guide others to improve, proactive.
  14. Passion for taking software from development to a verified product.
  15. Automotive, CAN, and Ethernet experience is a plus.


Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for British Columbia Based Applicants: $108,200 – $135,300 CAD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
