Senior Substation Engineer – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Gryphon Oakwood are seeking a talented Senior Substation Engineer, PE for an engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, throughout Canada the United States.
Essential Responsibilities
• Work with team to design substation protection schemes and develop layout of high voltage substation equipment
• Manage engineering design for substation projects including quality, schedule, and budget
• Act as the engineer of record for responsible projects
• Interface with internal and external team members such as substation engineers, solar engineers, study engineers, project coordinators, electrical designers, drafters, and project managers
• Take ownership of projects to meet and exceed client expectations
• Prepare and review equipment specifications and procurement documents
• Perform QA/QC of substation design packages
• Develop recommendations for equipment and material per requirements and safety guidelines
Requirements
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in HV substation design
• Experience as a project engineer or lead engineer
• Electrical Professional Engineer (PE)/(P.Eng) license
• Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards
• Power transformer specification design
• Substation equipment specification experience
• Support/Lead development of standards, optimizations, and processes
• Must be client centered with focus on high quality and innovation
