Software Development Manager, Alexa Devices – ASK

Want to join a team at the heart of building for Alexa? As a SDM you will be responsible for leading a team delivering large projects across Alexa. Your team will build the development tools for Alexa’s LLM based experiences, and will coordinate the implementation efforts between internal teams and external partners. You will be expected to make appropriate trade offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring your team operates efficiently. You’ll coordinate cross-team programs to deliver state-of-the-art natural language based capabilities. You’ll help teams identify key risks, provide guidance on how to communicate them, and ensure leadership has the right visibility. This role will have to work closely with senior leaders across Alexa and lead strategic initiatives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of engineering team management experience
7+ years of engineering experience
8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
