Offering $300 Hiring Bonus SOUTH CALGARY LPN Positions available. The School Bus Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for monitoring students with disabilities on the bus during transportation to and from school, recognizing and responding to deviations from their baseline, and administering emergency medications and procedures as prescribed by their physician. The Role Part-time, permanent Monday-Friday 6:30-9:30 am and 1:30-4:30 pm split shifts $23/hour (6 hours/day) Responsibilities Respond to students’ needs by administering first aid and care as stipulated in the care plan and protocol and notifying the driver if an emergency exists Constantly monitor students’ wellbeing and behaviours during the route Document nursing interventions on individual student narrative notes Assume responsibility for ensuring completion of student injury reports Secure students and/or equipment with restraints; tie-downs (wheelchairs, seat belts, car seats, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the safety and well-being of students Store and secure all student equipment that is to be transported with the student Observe and report regularly to the Supervisor on identified health problems of students and is responsible for recognizing deviations from the applicable plan of care and notifying the Supervisor for further instructions Keep the Supervisor informed of any health-related problems Assume other responsible job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor Maintain capability of securing EMS support via 911 Assume responsibilities for professional growth Qualifications Successful completion of a recognized LPN program and registration and membership in good standing with CLPNA Minimum experience in continuing care with children (children living with disabilities is an asset) Current BLS Certification in CPR and First Aid Must have a valid Alberta Driver’s license Must have a vehicle
