Our Canada organization continues to grow!  As the Sr. HR Business Partner and country HR Leader, you will play a key role in helping to shape and drive the talent agenda. The Sr. HR Business Partner is both a strategic and hands-on role that provides full cycle Human Resources support, as well as business leadership. The Sr. HR Business Partner is the connection between the business and HR to assess trends in areas such as engagement and retention, performance management and compensation, career and leadership development.


Role expectations
  • Lead HR processes for the growing Canada organization across multiple business verticals and functions
  • Partner with multiple senior business leaders to identify key capabilities aligned with business goals/workforce plans, conduct gap analysis, and develop and implement buy/build strategies
  • Partner with the Americas TA leader to support Talent Acquisition activities within the country 
  • Provide HR expertise and partner with functional HR Specialist teams across the Americas in various areas such as succession planning, talent management, talent acquisition, organization development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and training and development
  • Analyze trends and metrics in HR to develop solutions, programs and policies proactively
  • Diagnose individual, team and organization issues and recommend appropriate interventions. Coach and develop all levels of management through performance feedback and effective management processes
  • Understand the HR risk environment, identify and mitigate potential HR risks and support managers to create a positive employee environment
  • Partner with managers to interpret and implement Canada specific HR policies, practices, and procedures.  Ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date in line with current employment law. Ensure line managers are up to date with changes to any policies.  Partner with Payroll on issues related to these areas
  • Lead the cross-functional team for future office moves as the organization expands
  • Drive engagement, culture and change management initiatives
  • Act as the Canada lead for the implementation of assigned global/regional Talent Management initiatives

What we're looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field
  • 10 years of progressive HR experience in a fast-paced work environment, of which at least 5 years are spent in employee relations/business partnership
  • Experience supporting VP level clients and driving full talent lifecycle actions for an organization
  • Strong communication and presentation skills plus the ability to work in partnership across HR on special projects or initiatives
  • Solution oriented, looking beyond challenges, with a good eye for detail
  • Effective collaboration and influencing skills with a track record of establishing a positive reputation for working effectively across different levels of an organization
  • Knowledge of local employment law across all provinces of Canada
  • CHRL (Certified Human Resources Leader) designation
  • Willingness to travel 10-20%.  Some international travel is required.
  • Experience working with a US Company preferred
  • Experience in a matrixed organization preferred
  • Proficiency in French preferred

Pay Transparency

If provided, base salary or wage rate ranges are the range in which Align reasonably expects to set a candidate’s pay for the posted position. Actual placement depends on the individual skills and experience level of a candidate plus the total compensation and equity across team members. For other locations outside of the primary location, the base salary range will be adjusted geographically. 

 

For Field Sales roles, the salary listed is the base pay only and does not include the applicable incentive compensation plan. A cost of living adjustment may be added to base pay for higher cost areas in the U.S. 

 

Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay determined based on the position and your location, year in school, degree, and experience.
