Job responsibilities The role of the Associate, Structured Finance includes, but is not limited to, providing critical analysis and business support so that key stakeholders can drive the continued growth of the business. The Associate works with the leadership team to assist in the effective management and operational efficiency in all aspects of the business, contributing to the profitable growth of Travelers Capital. The candidate will also be responsible for analyzing and interpreting customers’ credit history and outlook and assist with making credit and investment recommendations that meet Travelers Capital and their respective partners’ Credit and Risk policies and guidelines.

Support the achievement of strategic objectives in the roll out and adoption ofTravelers Capital product program offerings Identify and analyze certain business growth opportunities and take on ad-hoc priority projects, including business plans, industry research, and administrative tasks, that are complimentary toTravelers Capital’s core and non-core businesses Assist in the authoring formal credit submission memorandums toTravelers Capital’s respective credit committee and/or investment partners, complete with key credit metrics and respective economic breakdown, as well supporting the VP in the funding and documentation process Assist in the development, build-out, composition and analysis of in-depth financial models as deemed necessary to support the business and/or as required by management Candidate will be able to analyze and identify financial model for overall cost savings, incremental revenues, and funding gap adjustments, as applicable Work with origination partners to ensure the accuracy of materials, completeness of submissions, improve overall service-level agreement turn-around time and deal efficiency – with both origination and funding channels Perform due diligence, research, and financial statement analysis on live transactions that support and facilitate the application process Such analysis will include, but is not limited to, detailed analysis of the customer business, industry evaluation, financial evaluation with a focus on capacity to pay, collateral value assessment, and structural recommendations to ensure responsible lending practice Assist in the authoring formal credit submission memorandums toTravelers Capital’s respective credit committee and/or investment partners, complete with key credit metrics and respective economic breakdown, as well supporting the VP in the funding and documentation process Responsible for post-closing monitoring the portfolio, including the diligent collection and review of all reporting requirements associated with loan facilities under administration, monitor the good standing of each portfolio investment, and assist with any remediation steps taken by the lender as necessary to protect said investments From time to time, the candidate may be required to compile reports on the overall portfolio, analyzing the portfolio for overall trends, credit risk, and summarizing key statistics The candidate will exhibit a natural curiosity for the subject matter and apply critical thinking to the task at hand and its respective impact to the overall business and its stakeholders Ability to complete tasks with thoroughness and attention to detail, while also effectively meeting deadlines and managing complex and heavy workloads with minimal supervision Understand and adhere to the standards and procedures of Anti-Money Laundering program, Know Your Customer requirements and Guidelines for Business Conduct Identify opportunities for automation/streamlining and process improvements to improve efficiencies and to increase productivity in workflows Report and escalate any unusual occurrences or fraudulent activities in any areas of the program Qualifications, knowledge and experience Strong sense of integrity, professionalism and a results-oriented attitude to continually improve processes and systems, enhance efficiency, and contribute to overall organizational success You are detail oriented and able to identify errors Advanced ability to manage and prioritize a complex workload while adhering to performance goals Results driven and action oriented Advanced knowledge of general business principles and practices, including, analyzing and interpreting financial data Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint 1 – 3 years of relevant experience, preferably within a financial institution Experience within or understanding of the asset based lending industry and/ or insolvency industry is an asset University degree in a related field (Economics, Commerce, or Finance) What we offer Leaders who support your development Opportunity to take on progressively greater accountabilities Ability to make a difference and lasting impact Comprehensive medical and dental benefits
