Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Location: Guelph, Bowmanville, Orillia (Subject to experience)

Job Type: Full-Time


Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and driven Construction Superintendent to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will come from a General Contractor background and bring a diverse portfolio of successfully delivered projects across multiple sectors. This role requires a strong leader who can manage daily on-site operations, ensure safety and quality compliance, and maintain tight control over project schedules and subcontractor performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
  • Enforce health and safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain daily site logs, reports, and documentation.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure seamless communication and problem-solving throughout all phases of the project.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential delays or issues, and proactively implement solutions.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and ensure strong communication between all project stakeholders.
  • Interpret and enforce construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent with a General Contractor.
  • Proven track record managing diverse construction projects (commercial, institutional, or infrastructure).
  • Experience with Water Treatment Plants and/or Pumping Stations is a strong asset.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
