Survey Project Manager

JOB OVERVIEW Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager, is responsible for overseeing survey operations in Edmonton, AB. This location provides a range of services including Surveying (Legal & Construction), Line Locating, 3D laser scanning, UAV/Drone Surveys, Geotechnical, Material Testing and Environmental services. The main responsibilities of the Project Manager include supporting new and current opportunities, client engagement, coordinating field and office resources, managing projects, supervising the work of other surveyors, being a positive leader and contributor for our safety program, ensuring all work is executed to the highest quality adhering to LN standards and best practices, and being a positive mentor to staff within the operation. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE · Post-secondary diploma in Geomatics or Civil Engineering · Professional Designation an asset, but not required · 8 years Geomatics Industry experience · 3 years of Field Survey Supervisory experience · Construction Survey experience is required · Extensive experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D & Trimble Business Center is required. · Valid Class 5 Drivers License (with a clean 5-year abstract) · CSTS, OSSA/BSO, First Aid and H2S Alive · Underground/Line Locating Certification and/or UAV Pilot License an asset · Experience managing survey projects/jobs · Experience supervising personnel · Strong work ethic and proven reliability · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) · Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision · Proven ability to learn, take direction and accept coaching feedback · Passion for excellence and attention to detail · Desire to train and learn new skills KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES SAFETY · Actively participate in corporate HSE Program · Actively participate in client HSE Programs ensuring requirements are understood and met · Leading by example, ensuring all corporate safety program elements are implemented · Support and participate in Safety Committee activities · Conduct project/field safety audits when required OPERATIONS: · Actively seek out new opportunities · Actively providing drafting & QA/QC support to your projects · Ensure goals are met through established strategies · Troubleshooting issues and handling field crew questions · Assist in completing proposals, quotes, estimates, and pre-qualifications · Local marketing and promotional opportunities · Build and maintain strong client relationships · Oversee local employees, assign work, supervise execution of work and quality · Manage Projects/Work · Assist in local hiring and workforce management · Maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment and materials · Develop strong colleague relationships and support other regional operations when needed WORK CONDITIONS This role will be located in Edmonton, Alberta. Relocation assistance and support may be made available.
